DESCRIPTION
This handsome teak wood chest has two separate compartments and sits on 4 tiny bun feet. The top panels opens to reveal a removable perforated screen that holds 77 empty new glass vials. The lower pull out 3" deep drawer is further divided into 5 with removable partitions. The vials can be filled with after dinner mints/ mouth freshener.

CONDITION
The piece is in good condition with original hardware and a working lock with a key. There is some staining around the key hole making that area slightly darker than the chest.

RESTORATION
The piece was cleaned and given a hand of natural polish with a protective coat of clear wax. Original brass hardware has been buffed to shine. Two missing removable partitions were added to the bottom drawer. 2.75" high glass vials have been added to make the chest more usable. The delivery time for this piece is 2-4 weeks.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT
Homeopaths Chests were commonly used as a home remedy kit. There was a top open space with a perforated wooden screen to hold glass vials. There were one or two drawers which were used to hold the homeopathic medicine bottles, stethoscope, reference books, etc.
