DESCRIPTION A teak wood chest with elegant brass inlay including drop brass handles. It has a top tray which is easily removable and is perfect to pass around for after dinner mints or chocolates. Tiny brass feet have been added to give the chest a good height.

CONDITION This piece is in excellent condition. Almost all brass ware is intact including the lock.
RESTORATION The chest is given a fresh coat of natural polish. The brass hardware is buffed to a shine. One of the drop handles was repaired and refitted again. A new key was made to fit the old lock.
HISTORY Money Chests were very commonly used by smaller trading business establishments. Some chests come with hidden locks and secret compartments.
